Toronto, Canada, May 12, 2016 \u2013 Papro Wine Cellars and Consulting (www.PaproWineCellars.ca)<\/a>, an award winning company specializing in wine cellar consultation, design, and construction, is weighing in on Ontario\u2019s redesign of the VQA support program.<\/p>\n

The province of Ontario has announced a $2.5 million investment to help further invigorate sales of its Vintners Quality Alliance Wines (VQA) wines. \u201cOntario has done an amazing job producing quality wine that is now being appreciated all over the world,\u201d says Steve Papadimitriou, founder of Papro Wine Cellars and Consulting. \u201cIt\u2019s encouraging to see the province show support for what Ontario wine producers have done to generate jobs and tourism across the province.\u201d<\/p>\n

The wine sector in Ontario is currently responsible for approximately 7,000 direct jobs. Its impact on the economy is widespread and the government hopes its investment will continue growing the Ontario wine brand to attract more tourists and generate additional revenue.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe economic impact can\u2019t be denied; those are 7,000 real jobs,\u201d Papadimitriou notes. \u201cBut even more than that, the contribution to the culture has been incredible. There are parts of Ontario that are known for wine, and now other regions are following suit and establishing their own brand. It\u2019s amazing to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are 200 wineries listed in the new 2016 Ontario Travel Guide. The guide touches on the wineries located at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Lake Erie North Shore, and Prince Edward County, as well as emerging wine regions. The province says it understands how important it is to invest in homegrown wine.<\/p>\n
